Lisa M. Rhode

Lisa joined Gadsden Schneider & Woodward LLP in 2012 as an associate. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987, her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 1990, and her LL.M. in taxation from Villanova University School of Law in 2000.

Prior to joining the firm, Lisa was the judicial law clerk for the Honorable Lois E. Murphy in the Orphans’ Court of Montgomery County, previously serving in that same role for the Honorable Calvin S. Drayer, Jr. Before her clerkships, she was an associate with the firm of Heckscher, Teillon, Terrill & Sager, P.C., and prior to that, an associate at Buchanan Ingersoll, P.C. Before moving to Pennsylvania in 1992, Lisa worked in the Cincinnati office of the Columbus-based firm, Vorys, Sater, Seymour & Pease. Her practice is focused on estate and trust administration, Orphans’ Court litigation and estate planning.

In addition to this practice, Lisa serves as counsel for the Supreme Court Orphans’ Court Procedural Rules Committee, where she has assisted in the drafting of rules and forms for accounts and adoptions. She also is an adjunct professor in the Graduate Tax Program at Villanova School of Law where she co-teaches a one-semester course on Probate Practice and Procedure.


Lisa has lectured at the Estate Law Institute in Philadelphia and at the State Trial Judges Conference. She is a member of the Probate and Tax Sections of both the Pennsylvania and Montgomery County Bar Associations.
